Place: Dandelion Soap & Herb Shop and Director's Home (located short distance from school)
"Traditional Herbalism" Study Course Outline
Tuesday 10am - 4pm & Monday 10am- 2:30pm OR
Tuesday & Thursday Nights 6pm - 9pm (*this will allow for flexibility in selecting dates)
The first 12 weeks this course will mimic the "All about Herbs" course since it will be covering the fundamentals, after May
31st, the course will go into more in dept study, application, use and dosage. The outline will be specific and study will may
vary based on weather conditions, but a plan will be in order.
Lessons Plan:
History, Planting, Seeding and Soil preparation
Body Systems: Digestion System, Cells, Nervous System, Tissue, Muscles, Skin and Organs
Understanding Herbs and their uses
Wildcrafting, edible weeds and flowers
Premaculture and the Ego system
Medical Terminology and Medication
Botany
Honey Bees and our world
Making Medicine and dosages
You will do case studies, research and lots of labs
Materials Needed:
1- 2" Three ring binder
1- 3" Three Ring Binder (Used to make a Herbarium -collection of plants with a brief description & Uses analysis)
1- Colored pencils, crayons or markers
1- Hardback Notebook/Journal (Borders bookstore has a large array in many colors for $3 to $5)
Books Needed:
Complete book of Herbal Medicine (Amazon used books)
Antimony & Physiology Seventh Edition (Purchase later on in the event we use other materials instead)
Additional Materials will be suggested, a complete supplies list will be compiled and administered at registration
